ABCs and 123s / STEM / Curious Minds, Big Discoveries!
In Carefreeville, every question can lead to a big discovery! Young children are natural explorers — full of questions about how things work and why things happen. Moments like these are perfect for sparking creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on learning.
Turn Curiosity Into Action
When a child asks a question, encourage them to think, wonder, and explore with you.
- Answer with a question: If they ask, “How do plants grow?” try responding with, “What do you think they need to grow?” or “How could we find out together?”
- Spark imagination: If they wonder, “Why do ants walk in a line?” ask, “What do you think would happen if they didn’t? How could we watch them to learn more?”
- Encourage drawing, building, and pretend play: Creative play can help children explore answers in fun and meaningful ways.
Ask Your Own Wonder Questions
Your curiosity can inspire theirs! Try asking questions that start with:
- What could we build or create with this?
- How do you think this works?
- What are three ways we could test this out?
- What might happen if we changed something?
- Can you think of a different way to try this?
